Chicago fire x la galaxy
On Saturday evening at Soldier Field, the Chicago Fire FC and the LA Galaxy were unable to cause any damage to each other, and the game ended in a 0-0 stalemate. Despite some heated moments at either end of the field, neither Chicago nor LA was credited with a shot on goal on the night. Both Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez and Douglas Costa appeared to give the Galaxy a 1-0 lead early in the second half, but both were called back due to offside calls, the second via Video Review.
In the end, there was no separating the two teams ahead of their US Open Cup third-round matchups on Tuesday, as Chicago drew for the fourth time this season and the Galaxy lost their two-match winning streak. While neither team had a shot on goal in this game, LA could have easily taken three points thanks to a pair of goals that were disallowed due to offside calls. It's a recurring story for Chicago, who have gone five games without scoring despite keeping their fifth clean sheet in seven games this season. They'll remember Kacper Przybylko's magnificent chance, which the Polish striker should have done much better with in the end.
