Seattle sounders x inter miami cf
Inter Miami CF defeated Seattle Sounders FC 1-0 at Lumen Field on Saturday night, the visitors' first-ever win outside of the Eastern Time Zone. Robbie Robinson scored the game's only goal. Late in the first half, DeAndre Yedlin punished his former squad by throwing in a cross for former No. 1 SuperDraft selection Robinson, earning his first assist for his new club. In a rainy second half, the Sounders piled on the pressure, with the Roldan brothers making supersub cameos, Raul Ruidiaz and Albert Rusnak arriving in the 70th minute, and Nico Lodeiro bolstering the defense in the 84th minute.
Despite Seattle's several chances, Nick Marsman was put to the test by his own defender, Damien Lowe, who came dangerously close to scoring an own goal in the 79th minute. In the end, the visitors got the shutout and all three points in Seattle. A reduced IMCF squad with only 18 players dressed for the match made history in one of the longest road trips an MLS team can make. This isn't nearly enough to put Miami in the MLS Cup Playoffs, but it gives head coach Phil Neville and his club greater confidence after defeating two teams that were considered the best in the league when the season began, Seattle and New England.
