Atlanta united x Seattle SOunders

This game was all tied up until Andrew Gutman's goal in extra time gave Atlanta all three points at home before a home crowd of 68,586.

The first half was evenly matched up as both teams held the ball for roughly the same amount of time as well as the number of shots taken. Both teams started the game by trading shots, but none of them would turn out to be actual goals until the 23rd minute when Ronaldo Cisneros scored in the penalty box. He was virtually defenseless when Luiz Araújo, who was driving down the sideline and running out of space, connected with him for a shot in the middle of the box. Jordan Morris would go for the equalizer in the 32nd minute off of a header that was from a cross by Alex Roldan, but that was blocked by Rocco Rios Novo.

Both teams would start the second half the same way they ended the first. Neither team would let go of the gas pedal. After an unsuccessful attempt by Luiz Araújo for a goal to put Atlanta up 2-0, Seattle got the equalizer they were looking for when Cristian Roldan scored in the 68th minute. Roldan would have to fight his way through defenders for his goal when his first shot was blocked by a diving defender, but he attempted a second shot that went in the bottom right corner. The pressure was still on from both teams on both offense and defense, and everyone thought the game was headed for a tie. Well, Atlanta wasn't going to let their fans down. So in extra time, with minutes left, Andrew Gutman took it upon himself to fire a shot from just outside of the box and land it in the bottom right corner to win the game for Atlanta United.
