LAFC x LA Galaxy
Following a thrilling 3-2 victory against the LA Galaxy on Thursday night, the Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) qualified for the Western Conference Final for the second time in club history.
22,350 fans at Banc of California Stadium went wild as Arango scored the game-winning goal in the 93rd minute. Denis Bouanga had scored twice before halftime. The striker for LAFC pounced on a rebound after Jonathan Bond parried a volley from Denis Bouanga's corner kick, giving the ball directly to the Colombian No. 9 in the LA Galaxy's lineup. Arango, though, responded quickly and accurately, sending his effort barely under the bar in the 93rd minute. This back-and-forth battle between the two teams climaxed with this goal. LAFC lost the lead twice in the match and managed to cap off this playoff El Trafico with a memorable finish reclaiming it at the death for the third time.
This was an El Trafico rivalry for the ages, one that consistently shines brightest when the league is watching and the stakes are highest. This victory sets up a Western Conference Final between LAFC and Austin FC at LAFC's home field.
