OL Reign x Houston Dash
Houston’s two-goal comeback in the second half was all that need to secure all three points
Megan Rapinoe was all over the pitch in this game. She provided the first goal in the 16th minute when she received a cross from Kim Little, from the middle of the pitch, and she scored from an angle from the Left Wing Position. Megan continued her offensive skills when, in the 31st minute, she tried to assist the ball to Sofia Huerta for a goal, but the ball ricochet off the goal post. Both teams started to challenge each other and get aggressive from the end of the first half to the end of the game, multiple yellow cards were distributed.
Houston started the second half with a substitution, bringing in Haley Hanson to replace Natalie Ann Jacobs, in hopes it provided a much-needed spark. It did just that as Houston was being aggressive with the ball and got awarded with a Penalty Shot due to OL Reign being caught with a handball. Ebony Salmon puts one in the back of the net in the 53rd minute to tie up the game. A play later, after OL Reign lost possession of the ball in the middle of the pitch, Salmon puts up another goal. Shae Groom initially got the ball after Houston regain position and immediately found Salmon sprinting in front of her for the goal. More aggressiveness came about around the 64th minute when 2 yellows came about, one for OL and the other for Houston. Lauren Barnes got a yellow for OL due to trying to get in Salmon's way to avoid getting a potential goal. Salmon basically just ran through her, knocking her off her feet. Shea Groom, on the other hand, did a hard, dangerous slide tackle to get a yellow card for Houston.
