With a 1-0 victory against Japan, the U.S. Women's National Team kept alive its hopes of winning a fourth straight SheBelieves Cup. Mallory Swanson's hot streak continued on, as she scored her 31st international goal.

Japan's high-energy push disrupted the United States’ attempts to play out of the back in the first half. The rest of the game became a battle of game management as both teams tried to break the other team's rhythm by forcing mistakes and creating scoring opportunities.

Morgan put Swanson behind the defense on the counter as time ran to a close in the first half, giving the United States the advantage they'd been seeking. Swanson skillfully controlled the ball, dribbled past the defense, and slotted the ball into the lower left corner, giving the USWNT a 1-0 lead at halftime.

Andonovski made six substitutions for the United States Women's National Team in the second half, while Futoshi Ikeda made four for Japan. While Japan's relentless push wore down in the end, the visitors made the Americans work hard for the win with a late charge.

A great showing from the young US goalkeeper ensured a scoreless draw for the USWNT. Murphy made two excellent stops near the end of the 90 to preserve the 1-0 victory and the ninth shutout of her short career after Fuka Nagano's effort hit the top of the crossbar in the 79th minute.
