New England Revolution x Orlando City
On Saturday night at Gillette Stadium, the New England Revolution beat Orlando City SC 3-1. Earl Edwards Jr. made three stops in his season debut as rookies Emmanuel Boateng, Gustavo Bou, and Carles Gil scored. With the win, New England now has a nine-game winning streak at home, matching the longest such stretch to start a season in franchise history.
In the 57th minute, Boateng scored his second goal of the season to give his team the lead for the first time in his Major League Soccer career. Boateng scored with a left-footed shot into the bottom-right corner from outside the 18.
Twelve minutes later, Bou scored his third goal of the year with a long-range curling attempt to further extend the advantage. To go along with Gil's ninth assist of 2023, Noel Buck collected his first MLS assist on the goal. After Orlando's Duncan McGuire scored to make it 2-1 in the 80th minute, Carles Gil scored the game’s final goal five minutes later to put the game out of reach. Gil scored the season-high seventh goal with help from Bou and Giacomo Vrioni to make it 3-1.
