Real Salt Lake x Colorado Rapids
Real Salt Lake clinched the Rocky Mountain Cup for the 12th time in 15 years, marking their 14th triumph in club history with a 2-0 victory over the Colorado Rapids. Goals from Colombian newcomers Brayan Vera and Chicho Arango, combined with a clean sheet by goalkeeper Zac MacMath, sealed the win.
After four consecutive losses, Real Salt Lake returned to America First Field seeking redemption and the coveted Rocky Mountain Cup. They started strong, creating numerous chances, while Colorado had their first opportunity in the 11th minute, well-handled by MacMath. Vera then struck a brilliant free-kick to put RSL ahead, while Arango came close to extending the lead before halftime.
In the second half, Arango secured the win with a headed goal from a Maikel Chang corner kick sending the stadium into rapturous applause. Anderson Julio's late goal was disallowed for offside, leaving the final score at 2-0 in favor of RSL.
