OL Reign x racing louisville
The OL Reign were back in the cozy confines of home, facing Racing Louisville FC, after spending the previous two weeks on the road, where they suffered the most perplexing of losses at Chicago and rebounded with a strong team win at Orlando.
This was the game in which forward Eugénie Le Sommer finally made an appearance, scoring a first-half brace and demonstrating that the finest kind of entertainment is not beautiful light bulbs synchronized to music, but goals into the net. OL Reign won their first game of the season, defeating Racing Louisville 2-0, thanks to great team defense in the second half that stopped some solid scares.
Le Sommer discovered the back of the net early on into the match for the Reign. She deserved a goal given the amount of impact she's had on the pitch for the OL Reign. And what a start to her OL Reign career she has had netting her second goal only a few minutes later in the half to secure all three points for the Reign.
OL Reign now has 16 points and is in eighth place in the rankings after defeating Racing Louisville. The OL Reign will play their next encounter at home. On Saturday, they'll be hosting the Houston Dash.
