MONTREAL IMPACT x NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION
The 25th season of MLS started out with a game between the Montreal Impact and the New England Revolution. The first goal of the season would be scored off of a beautiful cross from Cristian Penilla after which Teal Bunbury headed it home. It took Montreal quite a while to get accustomed to New England's offensive pressure. While Montreal's offense was virtually unnoticed up until the 38th minute as Romell Quioto scored off a redirected header from a Montreal corner. The game remained tied until the 80th minute when Maximiliano Urruti scored his first goal of the season making it 2-1 in favor of Montreal. It would've been 2-2 but a later goal by Wilfried Zahibo was called off via the Video Replay. The match finished with Montreal taking all three points and winning their home opener for some happy fans.
