TORONTO fc x dc united
The Reds defeated D.C. United 2-1 at BMO Field on Saturday, giving Bob Bradley his first win as Toronto FC head coach. Jonathan Osorio, a Canadian international, scored his 50th career goal and the game-winner for Toronto FC in the second half, masterfully executing a sliding finish past Bill Hamid at his near post. D.C. United's Russell Canouse scored the game's first goal after ten minutes. The match was leveled 14 minutes later when Alejandro Pozuelo, the 2020 MLS MVP, scored his first goal of the season, capitalizing on a well-worked corner kick.
Toronto FC started the March international break on a positive note, winning for the first time this season in Week 4. The victory marked Toronto's first regular-season victory over D.C. United in almost five years, ending a nine-game losing streak that began in 2017. Meanwhile, D.C. United will be upset to come away with nothing after such a promising start to the game. Hernán Losada's team has now lost back-to-back games after starting the season with two wins, losing to Chicago Fire FC last week and Toronto FC this week.
