The Crew came out of Atlanta with all three points thanks to the tremendous goalkeeping of Eloy Room. Columbus would score first in the very early minutes of the game thanks to a set-piece that ended in Jonathan Mensah putting the ball in the back of the net. Atlanta had an opportunity to tie the game up in the 9th minute off of a corner kick but Eloy Room managed to get a jump on it and reached to the top of the net to tip it over the bar. Eloy would once again make a spectacular save in which Lennon of Atlanta tried to rocket the ball in the net but Eloy stood tall and timed the save up perfectly. Columbus would score its second goal in the 45th minute. Atlanta had another huge opportunity to get on the board but Eloy somehow managed to get his fingertips on the ball to change its direction. Atlanta finally got on the board with a spectacular bike kick from Dom Dwyer within the final minutes of extra time. However, it wasn’t enough for Atlanta at the end of the day as the Crew left with a fresh 3 points on their road trip.
