Chelsea x Club America
As they get ready for their Premier League season, Chelsea is in the US for their preseason. They came to participate in some friendly games and to train. The first matchup took place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas versus Club America.
Chelsea had a few attempts on goal in the first minutes of the game. A free kick was taken by Hakim Ziyech in the ninth minute. Guillermo Ochoa, sadly, was prepared and dove to the side to block the shot. After the deflection, Chelsea regained possession of the ball but was unable to take another shot because a Club America player forced it out of bounds. Chelsea had superb ball movement in the 22nd minute, establishing control of the game. From left to right, they made use of the whole field's width. Kenedy, who was moving down the left side of the pitch, received the ball from Hakim Ziyech. The ball was then sent by Kenedy at a little angle in an effort to bend it towards the far corner of the goal. It glanced off the post's side and missed. In the 29th minute, Conor Gallagher intercepted the ball as Jürgen Damm attempted to pass to set up Club America for a potential score. In order to send the ball to an open Kai Havertz for a shot on goal, Conor then used his speed to race up the field with the ball. However, the shot was chipped too far up and missed the goal.
Timo Werner gave Chelsea a 1-0 lead in the 55th minute. After Scar Jiménez stopped his initial attempt, he eventually scored via a deflection. Reece James, a Chelsea defender, scored on his own goal to cut that lead short. He was delivering the ball to his goalie once again. In the 60th minute, the score was tied at one goal each when the goalie failed to react in time. Mason Mount scored a wonderful goal between two defenders to give Chelsea a 2-1 lead after Reece James produced an exquisite long ball to Marcos Alonso. Alonso then transferred it to Mount for the goal.
