San Jose Earthquakes x FC Dallas

Saturday night at PayPal Park featured a match between the San Jose Earthquakes and FC Dallas that ended in a 1-1 tie. Benji Kikanovi scored his first goal of the year for the Quakes while extending their home undefeated record to seven games.

Benji Kikanovi scored the game's only goal for the Quakes in the 70th minute to give his team a 1-0 lead after the first half was scoreless. The play would begin with a ball that would be finished originally off of a headed pass by Tanner Beason from a free kick taken by Cristian Espinoza that would later make contact with the head of Benji Kikanovi before going over the Dallas goal line to make it 1-0 to the home side.

Nkosi Tafari scored the tying goal for FC Dallas in the fourth minute of stoppage time, bringing the score even after San Jose had held their advantage for the whole of the game. This gut-wrenching concession late in the match would sting for the San Jose faithful, as the score would end with the points split in this 1-1 draw.
