USMNT x CANada

Moore's goal was the second-fastest in Gold Cup history, coming 20 seconds after kickoff. Kellyn Acosta passed the ball out wide to Sebastian Lletget, who quickly slipped a pass across the six-yard box to the back post, where Moore crashed in for the finish.

Both teams had key players leave the game due to injury, with Walker Zimmerman forced to sub out after colliding with Richie Laryea in the box, prompting Canada to call for a penalty. In the 15th minute, he was replaced by Donovan Pines of D.C. United. Ayo Akinola of Toronto FC was also injured in the first 20 minutes, with club and country teammate Jonathan Osorio coming off the bench.

Canada came within equalizing seconds into the second half when Cyle Larin took advantage of a poor backpass by Pines, but Matt Turner dived to make his first save of the match. Tajon Buchanan put a shot on frame from the edge of the six-yard box after another defensive blunder, but Turner denied his New England Revolution teammate.

In the 79th minute, Buchanan had Turner beat for what would have been a crucial Canadian equalizer, but his attempt was just wide. Cavallini's shot from 20 yards out was on frame, but it sailed right into Turner's arms in second-half stoppage time.

Both Daryl Dike and James Sands required treatment in the closing stages of the grueling match, but they were able to stay on and help the USMNT to a big win.

In many ways, this was the true Gold Cup debut for both teams, who breezed through their first two group stage matches. Canada needed only a draw to win the group, but the US took advantage of another goal in the first 15 minutes to seal the victory. Moore's goal 20 seconds in was the high point for a USMNT that struggled throughout the match.
