tottenham hotspur x Club America
In Kentucky for the second annual Women's Cup, Club America took on Tottenham.
Club America took the lead in the 10th minute when Kiana Palacios headed home a corner kick. The members of Club America kept the pressure on. Scarlett Camberos outran her opponents to score the game's second goal, putting Club America up 2-0. In the first half, Club America had several opportunities to increase its goal output. The spurs' few efforts at the goal were almost nonexistent.
In the 51st minute, the Comberos tried to add to their lead, but the goalie made a spectacular save. A goal by Nikola Karczewska, assisted by Celin Bizet, gave Tottenham some initiative in the 64th minute. Comberos kept drawing attention to herself by evading capture and making her way into open areas. In the 65th minute, she sprinted down a sideline where she had almost no defending. A teammate played a through ball to her, and she attempted a shot on goal, but it went just wide, ending the match with a 2-1 scoreline in favor of Club America.
